"It isn't stupid," Eddie answers, maybe a bit too quick. If he's honest, he wouldn't have expected Chrissy Cunningham to know anything about it, too focused on cheerleading, which is kind of cool, given the crazy flips they do, or her boyfriend or getting into college. He wouldn't have expected her to even realize he ran the club at school or, if she did realize that much, to know it had anything to do with the game.

He thinks maybe they needed to name it. With a name, it became real, rather than some otherworldly entity. With a name, it became something they could fight, even if Vecna was nearly impossible to defeat in the game.
