It probably shouldn't come as a relief to hear him say so. Chrissy can't deny that it does, though, nor can she try to hide it, letting out a soft laugh between sips of her drink. She feels too warm and too tightly wound, and it's not wholly unfamiliar, but it is difficult to ignore. Had he wanted to stay — had he not been the one to suggest leaving — she would have done it, taken deep breaths and gotten a water, shifted her focus to the band playing in a bid to keep herself distracted.
What she wants, though, is to chase that feeling rather than stifling it, to have him close to her without having to be conscious of other people nearby.
"Yeah," she agrees, still breathless, her mouth dry even after swallowing the last of her drink. The question in his voice, she answers with a smile, bright and genuine. "Honestly, I was thinking the same thing."
